Our History

Our rich history dates back to October 7, 1892, when the State of Indiana issued a charter for the Roachdale Bank with an authorized capital of $25,000. A significant milestone came on October 7, 1932, when a new charter was issued, and the Roachdale Bank became the Roachdale Bank & Trust Company. In the pursuit of expansion, we opened the Bainbridge Branch on October 3, 1960, housed in the National Spotted Swine Record building.

The year 1969 marked a pivotal moment as the board of directors approved the merger of Roachdale Bank & Trust with the State Bank of Russellville, leading to the formation of the newly organized Tri-County Bank & Trust Company on September 2, 1969. In 1970, our commitment to better serving our valued customers led to the construction of a new banking facility in Bainbridge, which opened its doors in November of the same year.

On August 8, 1980, Tri-County Bank & Trust Co. underwent a significant change when the board approved transferring ownership to the Tri-County Bancorp, becoming a one-bank holding company. Our dedication to growth and accessibility continued as we opened our third branch in Crawfordsville, IN, on December 29, 1987. Expanding our reach further, we proudly welcomed our fourth branch at 224 E Main, Crawfordsville, IN, on September 13, 1993.

Throughout our history, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing quality banking services to our community, and we look forward to continuing to serve you for many more years to come. Thank you for being a part of the Tri-County Bank & Trust family.
